I've had a very squiggly career and learning has served me well all the way. My curiosity and inquisitiveness certainly hold no bounds. I got a love of tech from my Dad, who worked at a television company. He'd bring home new products and let me loose on them. Its probably how I ended up in Edtech sales. He's also my role model when it comes to leadership. As a child I regularly went to the office with him.
I've worked in retail, media, logistics, not for profit, education, sales and FMCG. L&D is my my fifth career and its safe to say its been and still is quite a ride. Its certainly never boring. It does mean I bring a lot of commercial thinking, realism and pragmatism to my work, and think deeply about how customers of our learning feel and what their needs are. Its why I get most satisfaction from co-creation and having the employee voice in the room.
I'm all about the evidence and enjoy research on all things L&D, OD and beyond. I'm getting a huge amount of pleasure from the writing I'm doing, the research in particular. You'll also find me on the odd webinar, guesting on a podcast, speaking or chairing Learning Technologies Conference sessions. I enjoy discussions and sharing my knowledge on LinkedIn - hit the links at the bottom to connect.
Away from work, I'm still learning. Whether its on the dance floor, or lifting heavy weights on the gym floor. I'm a mum of 2 and its great to use my L&D expertise to help my son and daughter grow and learn.
